| "Louisette Saintfort (pronounced Loui/ss/ette) has always had a love for musical ever since entering this world. She was brought into the world by Vesta Peters (St. Vincent native) and Louis-Marie Saintfort (a Haitian native); she was born in Montreal. Louisette began singing at age 4 and became addicted ever since. Her musical environment filled with calypso, reggae, underground hip hop, rock, jazz, R&B, retro, 80’s to 90’s rock heavily began influencing her young mind. At age nine, she was chosen to be one of the lead singers in Revival Our Temple’s youth choir. The choir traveled to many churches in Ontario and north east sides of the States. A few years later, Louisette began playing the string bass at her middle school. There she learned to play classical music for 3 years. At 17 years old, she had the opportunity of singing the Black National anthem for Black Prom. By 2005, she became the lead singer of an already successful alternative/hip hop band called the Oracy. The 5 piece band preformed at many spots like the Reverb night club, Colony Hotel, Kathedral, The Opera House opening for Zygote and many other trendy spots within Toronto’s club district. That same year, Louisette landed the spot as Electra for the musical CATS by Andrew Lloyd Webber; produced by Marquee Productions. They performed at the Vaughn City playhouse and the Newmarket Theater. Currently, Louisette is a Civil Engineer student and is continuing on pursuing her long loved dream, music. She has been working with her cousins Frozen State, recording engineer Damion “Matic” Hill, reggae artist Albeeno, graphic designer Sanja Williams- Hill, musician Eric Lea and many other successful underground artists such as herself to create a solid foundation, because this journey and thirst for musical blood will never end. .." |
