King Benj-I started his musical career in Kingston, Jamaica. By his early twenties, King Benj-I had become a well respected recording artist World Wide. In his early years he worked with well known bands such as Revolution, Roots Radics, High Time & Black Culture. Recorded for Legendary recording studios in Jamaica, Channel One & Harry J. King Benj-I started his own recording label “Solid Rock” in JA with Raymond Smith that produced his first hit single “Crazy Lover”. A personal friend of Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs, Israel Vibration, Dennis Brown, Sanchez, Bunny Maloney, Teddy Brown, Val (Bass) Douglas, Johnny Bull, Sister Carol, Sugar Minott, Derick Hinds, Frankie Paul, and Denroy Morgan, Reggae Giants whom he grew up and worked with. His works and successes have earned him the right to be among the Reggae Greats. His outlook on life and his concern about derogatory lyrics, influence progressive people as they give him Nuff respect. His message, style and charisma is original to the core.
